Texas Energy market is deregulated by the government which is a benefit to its residents. They have the power of switching between brands or the so called Retail Electric Providers or REPs. The very fact that consumers have access to a variety of low rates on electricity has somehow improved the lifestyle of residents in Houston and other areas. Some consumers are able to cutback their power bills up to twenty percent by switching towards other cheaper retailers. The market is therefore crowded by new and existing providers who are quick to apply many different methods of attracting customers. As a result, consumers are able to spend even less cash and sometimes nothing if they are able to bring new affiliates.
