After an hour of discussion, we end up with a decision – to bring the laptop to a repair shop. The more my brother tried to fix it, the more the computer was not working. It all started when my four year old nephew started to download an online game. We thought that the damage was caused by a downloaded virus since no matter how we tried to run the windows normally or set it to the last known configuration that worked, still we ended up with a blue screen with some words on it that I wasn’t able to read completely. Good thing, my cousin who’s a computer technician arrived at the house upon my brother’s request. I saw him inserted a cd of which I believed he did a reformat. He then added some programs that we frequently used. However, he wasn’t able to download the other programs such as quicktime that he resorted immediately for apple quicktime help. Then and there, the problem was resolved and in less time the laptop was operating back again. Before he left, he made certain that the laptop is equipped with an anti-virus. He contact AVG and at last, all the necessary files were set up to make the laptop running, yet protected. Since then, we always see to it that no one downloads malicious or untrusted sites directly into our laptop. The damage brought about by the virus had somehow brought great worry to my sister who is working online. She’s a telemarketer and having the laptop around is really important for her. She earns pretty well from her homebased job, she can even help my parents in paying our bills.

I have to keep track of quite a bit of data and information for my own personal records as well as some of my business dealings, and when my laptop crashed last year, I lost all of that information.
